Byakko

byakko is the ancient, celestial tiger spirit that governed not only the western skies above Battle CIty, but the entire universe. During the manefestation war, Byakko and the other celestial spirits agreed to remain neutral and stay out of the conflict lest they lose their positions in the mythological hierarchy. At first, Byakko was happy to oblige this agreement. WHat did a conflict amongst mortals and their stories have to do with her? she had her tiger cub to protect after all. THe mortals could solve their own problems.

One day however, while Byakko was prowling the stars in the celestial realm, her cub got curious about the clashing mortals and the metals he heard in the mortal world. Curiousity got the better of the young cat, and he wondered down only to be mistaken for a manefestation and captured by blood lusted humans. WHen Byakko returned and saw that her cub was missing, she tore through the barrier to the mortal realm to save him. Luckily he had already been rescued by a human who had seen the young cubs capture, but while the cub was saved, the human was at death’s door. BYakko immediately returned her cub to the edge of celestial realm, but having broken the neutrality pact, Byakko could not return herself. SHe then relinquished her role as the guardian of the western sky to her cub, bound her soul to the man who had saved her cub, and vowed to stay with him until all manefestations were defeated and could then return to her cub. THus, THe Guard was born.

WEAPONRY

BASE ABILITIES

  • Immunity (Passive) (Level Access: 10-20)

    • Celestial energy, reality warping, metal manipulation

SKILLS

Protector (Passive) (Level aCCESS 1-20)

  • This ability allows The Guard form a layer of hardlight energy around his body at will.

    • This energy can be concentrated in different areas of his body to increase the protective shielding in that area.

      • This can also be used offensively to increase the impact of that body part.

cRUSHING fANGS (acTIVATED) (lEVEL aCCESS 5-20)

  • When activated, this gives The Guard the ability to create and control metal.

  • Each strike from him when this is active increases in strength at 25% per strike as long as the combo continues.

    • This skill increases to 50% per strike if The Guard is facing West or if the target is within his Equal Ground.

tIGER fISTS (acTIVATED) (lEVEL aCCESS 5-20)

  • When activated, a black tiger head with blue stripes forms around The Guards right fist and a blue tiger head with black stripes forms around his left.

    • Attacks from the right fist produce additional attacks and are able to pierce any defense.

      • They can also strike resonating characters.

    • Attacks from the left produce a wide burst of energy that does internal damage equal to the external damage done.

      • They can also destroy any ranged skill that is on or below his level.

eQUAL gROUND (acTIVATED) (lEVEL aCCESS 10-20)

  • When activated, a 50ft aura spreads from The Guard.

  • The levels and stats of any and all resonators in this area are averaged and all of the characters in this aura are then set to this level.

    • The only characters that are ignored by this are outliers. (Characters 10 or more levels above or below The Guard)

thE bEST oFFENSE (uLTIMATE) (dURATION: 2HRS) (lEVEL aCCESS 10-20)

  • When activated, The Guard creates an impenetrable aura around himself and all allies within a 50ft radius of him.

    • While in this aura, any attack dealt to his allies is reflected back at the opponent at twice the power.

    • Additionally, the damage that they would have taken is changed to healing.

    • However, when The Guard is struck or strikes others while in this aura, his target is erased from existence and their resonating character becomes another stripe on bYAKKO.

      • As such, their passives become his for the duration of this skill.

  • (Cooldown: 10hrs + 1hr for every ally effected)
